Ministry for Regional Development has issued a set of activities for tourism in 2013. The document provides current statistical data and trends of tourism activities in the field of conceptual, legislative and international activities.
The performance of the tourism sector in the Czech Republic can be evaluated in 2013 as a period of more moderate growth, as not all performance parameters grew. Continued impact of the crisis years, both in the Czech Republic and in the world economy. In 2013 were completed significant conceptual documents tourism. In March, the Government approved a new concept of state tourism policy for the period 2014-2020, which was prepared in conjunction with the marketing concept of tourism for the period 2013-2020 the agency CzechTourism. This period will be mainly due to the significant limitation of aid to the sector from European funds, period of change and finding new ways of financing development projects.
In the context of legislative activity, work on the creation of the Law for Promotion of tourism development, which is due to divergent views of individual participants could not even finish this year. In relation to the law č.159 / 1999 Coll., Continued to prepare his amendment, which was based on a refined definition of certain provisions to remain and continue to ensure adequate consumer protection and fit the new wording of the law approved by the Civil Code.
Some other activities can be mentioned in particular the initiation of the first certification organizations in the Czech system of service quality, which is a tool to actors involved in tourism to work on improving their service. The Ministry also brought other results of projects aimed at improving the quality of statistical data and information on tourism. Very successfully can be evaluated further continuation of the National Tourism Support Programme, through which the fourth time support specific projects in the field of social tourism.
The Ministry was also very active in international cooperation and in cooperation with international organizations active in the field of tourism. Success was the organization of the 12th Global Forum of tourism statistics for 2014, together with the OECD and Eurostat.
